well the entire reason we have the electoral college is to stop states from relaxing election laws and allowing ineligible votes just to sway the popular vote. a good example of this in modern time would be something like a “sanctuary” city that harbors illegals. many like califnornia. dont really fuss too much when illegals vote in the elections. or dead people…. since the federal government has no control over states elections, to combat this form of fraud the electoral college was also created. thats why everytime the democrats lose, they always brag about the “popular vote”…. now although the polticians in washingto may know darn well the poular vote doesnt meean anything because they cheat….they bet on all their “ supporters being ignorant to this fact. so they brag about the popular vote should a healthy 68-year-old single male, who is downsizing and selling his paid-off $700k home, buy a new and much cheaper house, or simply rent a smaller house?.
